In 2016, Samsung was getting ready to open their state-of-the-art, experiential space, SAMSUNG 837, in the heart meatpacking district in NYC. Samsung 837 is where anyone can try out cutting-edge experiences, take part in interactive art installations, or see a larger-than-life, three-story screen. It is a home for live music performances, exclusive screenings, and podcast recordings. Samsung 837 combines art, fashion, technology, and sport in unprecedented ways. It’s not a store, but a new kind of place filled with ideas, experiences, and Samsung’s latest devices. One of those devices was the Samsung Gear, their virtual reality headset. We were lucky to produce the content that went in the headset.

Please note, the following videos are meant for 360, and were produced for VR headsets. We recommend watching on an iPad if possible, otherwise, just remember to select to select 4K resolution, and be sure to look all around! Enjoy.

‘anatomy’ series

Imagine jumping out of a helicopter onto a mountain and skiing down like an Olympian. Or surfing in the barrel of a gigantic wave. With Samsung’s ‘Anatomy’ series, you don’t have to imagine anymore. At Samsung 837, views would step onto a mechanical surfboard or skis, and experience what world-class athletes got to experience at peak, athletic moments. Despite being designed for the machines, both pieces were awarded Vimeo Staff Picks.
